We are a technology driven payments company whose mission is to makes global payments easy for SMEs. We are the first account-to-account (open banking) payment provider to target SMEs and handle cross-border payments. Our product handles both domestic and international payments, accounts receivable and accounts payable, and can be delivered directly or via our API. There is no glass ceiling on how far Crezco can grow.
For now we are Seed/Series-A stage start-up at the beginning of our journey. We're growing at an incredible pace, with many happy customers, but there's plenty left to do and we need great people to join our journey and help us achieve our goals.
👇About the role:
We are looking for an experienced individual to lead our legal and compliance responsibilities. You will be working closely with the CEO managing Crezco and driving forward its expansion efforts.
Though a legal role, you should have a strong interest in business, technology and finance. This is a fast paced, ever changing environment that will require you to be a self-starter and multi-tasker with a hands-on attitude. You will have to balance between maturity in governance and processes, and the practical considerations of fast growth and scaling.
We work as a team, leveraging the collective experience and knowledge of everyone here, and are supportive to others when required, no matter the task, but this does not slow down our decision making or ability to executive individually. You should take ownership of your work and be proud of the company you are building.
🏗️The type of work we expect
- Legal & Compliance Policies and Procedures: these will including writing and managing the following: data protection rules, privacy policies, employment contracts, IP assets, shareholder agreements, business contracts, terms & conditions, healthy & safety policies, disciplinary & grievance policies, equal opportunity policies and engagement letters.
- International Expansion: Crezco has a subsidiary in Lithuania, will open offices elsewhere in the EU, and soon further abroad outside the EU too. You will lead, advise, and manage the expansion from a legal perspective, assuring we adhere to local legal and compliance requirements as a company, employer and regulated entity.
- Regulatory Requirements: Crezco is regulated by the UK FCA as an Authorised Payment Institution. You will handle the various requirements, reporting and ongoing responsibilities here. Furthermore, we are looking for more enhanced regulatory approvals and licenses both in the UK and abroad, such as an EMI license in the EU. You will act as a regulatory strategic advisor, helping Crezco navigate the regulatory environment efficiently, and project leader on further regulatory applications.
- Project management, operations and public policy: you will help manage internal company projects, potentially complex integrations with third-parties involving multiple stakeholders and processes. Crezco has different types of partnerships, such as distribution platform partnerships, underlying infrastructure partnerships, and key client partnerships. We want you to help manage these partnerships, assuring they are well looked after and not neglected. Crezco is also involved in multiple trade and government-related bodies to further develop open banking domestically and abroad, in which we would like you to represent Crezco.
- Other: we want to work with people who are flexible and comfortable with uncertainty (agile), that identify company gaps and problems to fix. You shouldn’t be afraid to weigh in on human resources, employee onboarding, organization structure, internal trainings, workshops, auditing, board preparations, and much more.
