We aim to reduce invoice payment friction, improve the user experience, and speed up economic progress everywhere. By leveraging open banking technology coupled with our regulated permissions, Crezco embeds domestic and international account-to-account (A2A) payments into B2B platforms, such as Xero’s UK Bill Payment solution. 👇About the role:
The candidate will be the sole operations hire at Crezco. This candidate will be part of Crezco’s leadership team but must lead by example, which means doing the work first. The role is not merely about keeping Crezco running smoothly but identifying strategic areas of improvement and implementing necessary changes. Given the size of Crezco, it is important the candidate embraces diverse projects, potentially outside their prior experience. When a new candidate starts at Crezco, they need to be comfortable tackling multiple, potentially uncorrelated projects, and in time, Crezco will identify their strengths and play to these. Crezco is a growing company without a glass ceiling. We want candidates with the same attitude.
🏗️The type of work we expect
- New business projects: identify, design and own new value creative projects, which either support Crezco’s top-line revenue, improve gross margins, reduce bottom-line costs, and/or optimise our existing processes. As a payment company, an obvious example would be identifying and integrating with a new third-party financial services partner that helps our customers move money with greater confidence, security and convenience. Another example could be implementing a new HR software or switching CRM systems.
- Develop and own strategic supply chain partnerships: Crezco relies on regulated financial infrastructure suppliers. A constant dialogue with our suppliers is important to help raise mutual awareness and ensure both parties remain compliant, both from a commercial and regulatory perspective.
- Build, optimise and monitor business processes: Crezco implements quarterly OKRs across the business. These could be related to increasing the number of payments or customer adoption, reducing customer support tickets or churn, and/or completing IT or engineering business projects. The task is to ensure these OKRs are on track, supporting identified blockers or bottlenecks. This will involve coordination across business departments, strong analytical skills and data competency.
- The other basket: Crezco is a start-up/scale-up (c.40 FTEs) where important tasks can find themselves without a home. These may be related to human resources, information security audits, business risk processes, data protection, data quality, or certain compliance requirements. If required, you must be comfortable picking up lost projects.
What you will need to be successful:
Background requirements:
- 3+ years working at a regulated payments / fintech start-up / scale-up
- A track record of owning complex projects end-to-end
- Proficient data skills (SQL, Python, or R)
- Experience working with product and engineering teams
Supportive requirements:
- Familiarity with the UK regulatory landscape and requirements
- Senior management, leadership and team building experience
