👇About the role:
We are looking for an individual to report directly to the CEO and work closely with our investors in managing and directing the financial and operational requirements of a start-up. This is a fast paced, ever changing environment that will require the individual to multi-task and maintain a hands-on role. We work as a team, leveraging the collective experience and knowledge of everyone here, and are supportive to others when required, no matter the task, but this does not slow down our decision making or ability to executive individually. You should take ownership of your work and be proud of the company you are building.
🏗️The type of work we expect
- Financial Planning and Analysis: you will work on financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and analytical activities, including preparing monthly management, board and other ad hoc reports. This is not just about drafting reports, but analysing the data, taking responsibility and providing strategic guidance.
- Accounting, Tax and Company Filing: you will manage our monthly and annual accounts and reporting requirements, this may include regulatory reporting and audit requirements for the FCA.
- Cash Management and Strategy: you will manage, analyse and forecast our expenses, payroll, supply costs, and revenues. With this information properly documented, you will provide strategic guidance on budgeting, financial planning and our pricing strategy.
- Operations and Internal Controls: you will manage supplier and customer contracts, identify internal inefficiencies and excess costs to streamline and simplify our processes.
- Other: we want to work with people who are flexible and comfortable with uncertainty (agile), that identify company gaps and problems to fix. You shouldn’t be afraid to weigh in on human resources, employee onboarding, organization structure, internal trainings, workshops, compliance procedures and risk management processes.
What you will need to be successful:
Background requirements:
- 3+ years experience running financial and commercial functions within a tech or fintech company
- CIMA/ACCA/ACA Qualified
- Proven track record of building and establishing efficient processes and procedures
- Experience in stakeholder management and relations, covering key suppliers, board members, investors, senior management, to heads of compliance, technology, risk and innovation
