👆About Crezco:
We are a high-tech account-to-account payments company whose mission is to make payments easy by leveraging open banking and innovative financial technology. We aim to reduce trade frictions, make inefficient markets efficient, and speed up economic progress everywhere.
We are operating in an exciting space with boundless potential and we are already growing at an incredible pace, but there's plenty left to do and we need great people to help us achieve our goals.
👇About the role:
We are looking for an experienced individual to strengthen our compliance and legal responsibilities. You will be working closely with the CEO and COO, both the two co-founders, managing Crezco’s regulatory responsibilities.
You should have a strong interest in business, technology, law and finance, and a hands-on experience in a similar function at a PSP or EMI organisation.
This is a fast paced, ever changing environment that will require you to be a self-starter and multi-tasker with a hands-on attitude. You will have to balance between maturity in governance and processes, and the practical considerations of fast growth and scaling.
We work as a team, leveraging the collective experience and knowledge of everyone here, and are supportive to others when required, no matter the task, but this does not slow down our decision making or ability to executive individually. You should take ownership of your work and be proud of the company you are building.
🏗️The type of work we expect
- Legal & Compliance Policies and Procedures: these will include writing and maintaining the following: data protection rules, privacy policies, employment contracts, various terms & conditions, health & safety policies, disciplinary & grievance policies, equal opportunity policies, engagement letters, among others.
- Regulatory Reporting and Requirements: Crezco is regulated by the UK FCA as an Authorised Payment Institution. You will handle the various requirements, reporting and ongoing responsibilities here, including acting as Crezco’s MLRO.
- Regulatory Applications: Crezco has already submitted a variation-of-permission application to the UK FCA, but will look to get further regulatory approval aboard, including an EMI license in the EU. You will act as a regulatory strategic advisor, helping Crezco navigate the regulatory environment efficiently, understand relevant laws, best practices, new technologies, and project-manage and facilitate further regulatory applications.
- AML & KYC Compliance: Crezco’s clients are low-risk SMEs, either collecting invoice payments or making payments. We do not onboard high-risk customers. Nonetheless, we must continually enforce a strong AML & KYC process. You will help Crezco implement and maintain appropriate controls, while responding to ad hoc queries from our banking partners, regulators, and customers.
- Other: we want to work with people who are flexible and comfortable with uncertainty (agile), that identify company gaps and problems to fix. You shouldn’t be afraid to weigh in on human resources, employee onboarding, organization structure, internal trainings, workshops, auditing, board preparations, and much more.
What you will need to be successful:
Background requirements:
- 3+ years hands-on experience in a similar function at a PSP or EMI organisation
- Excellent understanding of the relevant regulatory and legal frameworks
